Vision.Looks.Outwards
We created our documentary Vision. Looks. Outwards in the hope of inspiring and moving an audience. We produced the documentary to give people something to think about and hopefully leave them with the notion that anythings possible.
Our documentary contains clips from a number of different people, who are embarking on different life journeys. We filmed children, men and women all with a story to tell and all with different life aspirations and goals. It documents what they most want to achieve in life or what they have already achieved and are most proud of. The documentary is fast-paced, but what you most get from it is that everyone has something they want to aspire to, even the youngest of children know they want to be, a teacher or maybe a chef.

I especially like them man who said that taking care of himself is the worst job he ever had. I hope we get some unexpected answers as well. We will follow a format similar to this, but may select some quieter or indoor locations. However we would like the background to be interesting.

Aspire to Inspire
Sorry we haven’t taken the time to blog sooner, we are all juggling quite a few commitments. We are all at Uni, trying to achieve our different goals.
In fact, that is the point of the documentary we are trying to create. We want to show the different ranges of dreams and aspirations that people have, and how limitless possibilities may be. We want to show that even the goals of best friends may be polar opposites, while the goals of a eight year old boy and a sixty year old man who have never met each other, may be virtually identical.
It will essentially be a collection of VoxPops, with different people across many demographics. We will ask a single question to all people, and then illustrate their answer through animation. For now, the question we have settled on is: ‘Can you describe to us your ultimate goal?’ We hope that this question will leave room for a wide range of answers that will allow us to use our creativity with editing, music, and animation, to create an inspirational and thought provoking documentary.
We have yet to sort out:
1. People to participate, explaining their dreams. Roughly around 20 people and a wide demographic range.
2. Locations: where, and if more than one.
3. Contracting a music producer.
We are looking forward to the film training weekend on the 16-17th.

Lara, Bisi and Tatyana are taking part in what we want!, a media grant scheme run by Tower Hamlets Summer University.
www! helps young people aged 13-20 create a film or photo project about a subject they feel passionate about. The project offers mentoring, training and financial support over 6 months.
